ILO was born out of the minds of a designer and a textile entrepreneur. Seeing the demand for beautiful custom rugs with a strong aesthetic and understanding of their clientele, ILO Rugs bloomed from a few small custom designed rugs to a full-fledged company with hundreds of beautiful designs. Each refined rug is hand-made in Nepal or India using ancestral Tibetan and Persian knots. Requiring hundreds of artisan man-hours to produce a single unique rug, we pride ourselves on the quality and the artistry our artisans have passed down from generation to generation and adapted to our contemporary requirements. We only use eco-friendly dyes and natural yarns from the Himalayas and New Zealand keeping our process entirely handmade. Making each individual rug usually takes three to four months to produce, but their longevity is timeless.
